The Black Forest Restaurant

This is one of my latest discoveries while on a trip to the Fairmont Hot Springs in British Columbia. Located on the corner of Hwy. 93 and 95 on the turnoff to Invermere, The Black Forest, a traditional German restaurant awaits you.

The Black Forest Restaurant

Nestled in the beautiful Kootenay rookies, surrounded by scenic mountain tops, this restaurant is considered a culinary jewel of the area, and I absolutely agree with that. It has a truly European atmosphere, taking you back, just as the name says, to Germany.

White linen table cloths with arranged linen napkins, and waitresses dressed in traditional costumes add to the distinguished ambiance. The tables are arranged around a round dance floor for live entertainment on most weekends.

The food we had was absolutely delicious. If you like European dishes and especially German,  you are going to love this place. After placing our orders, our server brought us warm buns with garlic butter to snack on while waiting for our food to come. Very well priced restaurant for the quality of your dinner. Here is the price of our dinner; Fillet Mignon $29.95 and  Wiener Schnitzel $16.75 + $2.50 for substituting chicken instead of pork. The dinners were served with princess potato, red cabbage and sautéed vegetables.

Here I am in front of the entrance of The Black Forest Restaurant, ready to step into Germany.
I`m so glad we discovered this culinary jewel on our trip.

Fairmont Hot Springs

Fairmont Hot Springs is located about 26 km. from Invermere. It is a great place to spend the day relaxing in the therapeutically waters of the hot springs.

I have not been compensated by this restaurant to write this review.  I just really enjoyed my time there.
