Cheddar Biscuits

Quick and easy cheese biscuits with yumminess in every bite.

Eat them warm as a snack, on their own or with a cup of tea. Once baked you can freeze them in a sealed container (or a Ziploc bag) so you have them handy when the craving for something salty hits. Take some out and let them defrost, then warm them up in a toaster oven. They will taste just like freshly baked.

Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

2 cups flour
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk

DIRECTIONS

Place flour into a bowl. Using a pastry cutter, cut margarine into the flour until resembles course bread crumbs. Stir in the salt and mix well.

Add baking powder, lemon juice and grated cheddar.

Add milk and mix together just until sticks together to form into a ball.

Cover and let  rest for 10-15 minutes.

Place dough on a floured surface and roll dough out to 3/4-inch thickness. Using a round cutter dipped in flour, cut rounds and place them on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake at 350F for 15 minutes or until top is light brown.

Remove to a cooling rack. Let the biscuits cool slightly before eating them.
